Apply to host WordCamp Europe 2017

Earlier this year we invited local teams from different European cities to get in touch and chat to us about what it is to host WordCamp Europe and how best to prepare their applications.

We were approached by five different European teams and had great conversations with them to try and give them the most information possible so that they can prepare. We’re looking forward to their applications and you should all be excited – all five are amazing locations and would make great host cities for the camp.

We’re excited to announce that the call for hosts for WordCamp Europe 2017 is officially open.

The decision

The choice of which city to host WordCamp Europe for each year is made by the organising team of the previous year based on applications that European communities submit, much like a standard WordCamp application, just on a different scale.

We have to consider many different aspects of the application – location, experience of the local team, venue availability and dates, how well established the local community is, how easy it is for people to attend and many more. Curious about the process? Read how we selected Vienna to host in 2016.
