Say hello to our final group of #WCEU speakers!

It’s an honour to introduce our last group of #WCEU speakers. Please welcome Helen Hou-Sandí, Mike Schroder, Mattias Ventura, Luc Princen, Graham Armfield, Daniel Bachhuber, Taylor Lovett, and Andy Nacin.

Helen Hou-Sandí

Helen is a lead developer for WordPress and the Director of Platform Experience at 10up, where she contributes to WordPress full-time.

Having been a professional musician in a previous life, Helen believes in the value of the intersection of technique and artistry in all aspects of life, including software.

Andrew Nacin

Andrew Nacin is a Lead Developer of WordPress. He’s led major releases, mentored contributors, and spearheaded new development.
He has strong feelings about the core philosophies of WordPress, among them “decisions, not options” — software should be opinionated in lieu of burdening the user with too many options.

In January 2014, he joined the U.S. Digital Service at the White House, where he works to improve the usefulness and reliability of the country’s most important digital services.

Mike Schroder

Mike Schroder, known as Shredder to many, is a cross-cultural kid, coffee-drinking sailor, and lover of Open Source.

He’s a WordPress Core Committer, Release Lead for WordPress 4.5, and works as WordPress Platform Lead at DreamHost. You can find him blogging on geeky things at http://getsource.net.

Daniel Bachhuber

Daniel is the maintainer of WP-CLI, contributing developer to WP REST API, and maintainer, contributor or former maintainer / contributor to dozens of projects.

He has a ton of experience to share with those new to maintaining open source projects, and food for thought for those who want to make maintainership a sustainable activity.

Mattias Ventura

Mattias is an engineer and designer at Automattic, but also a philosophy enthusiast, writer, film director, and photographer. He’s a member of the Calypso core team and helped build it from scratch.

He’s been contributing to WordPress core since he co-designed the Twenty Eleven default theme. More recently, he worked on the theme browser update for versions 3.8 and 3.9.

Luc Princen

Luc is the co-founder and lead developer at Chef du Web, a WordPress agency in the south of the Netherlands. They use WordPress for applications, campaigns, and regular websites.

His main focus is in frontend development. He loves creating clean, fast loading and user-centered websites that are easy to use and nice to look at.

In his spare time, he enjoys barbecuing, contributing to open source projects and playing the (occasional) grand strategy game.

Graham Armfield

Graham is a Web Accessibility Consultant with his own company Coolfields Consulting. He works with organisations to help them improve the accessibility of their websites – testing the websites for accessibility, and advising the designers and developers on how to fix issues found.

Taylor Lovett

Taylor Lovett is the Director of Engineering at 10up, one of the biggest WordPress centric agencies in the world. Having been involved with WordPress since 2007, he has contributed to WordPress core, authored popular plugins (downloaded hundreds of thousands of times), and spoken at many conferences across multiple continents
